ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT: (HISTORY, BRIEF PROFILE)
Mathematics Department is one of the oldest departments of Government Degree College, Tuni established in the year 1998. At present the Department is offering B.Sc. programme with four disciplines: M.P. Cs (Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science), M.C.Cs (Mathematics, Chemistry, Computer Science), MPC (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry), MPWT (Mathematics, Physics, Web technology) and one Vocational Programme B.Voc. (Pharmaceutical Chemistry). B.Sc. Mathematics (Honours) is offering from the academic year 2023-2024. There are two sanctioned posts in the Department, at present two regular faculty members are working.

1. VISION :
To develop computing, critical thinking, reasoning and problem solving skills among thestudents.

Facilitates the learners to become competent users of mathematics and mathematicalapplications that lead them to be lifelong learners and productive members of the society.
Objectives
1. To aim for the development of students creative thinking ability, the department of mathematics offers the courses.
2. To improve the participation and presentation skills among the students.
3. To train students for the competitive exams and higher progress .
4. To support the students by mentoring .
5. To support the society through community service projects.
